So what do you do in this situation.... Truck needed to have transmission rebuilt. Called around to a few local shops. There was one not to far from me so I called them. This was last Friday (a week from yesterday). I told them I would drop the trans and just bring them the trans Monday morning. I was going to have a busy weekend so I called back and asked how much they would charge just to do the whole job. Price was reasonable so I told them I would bring the truck there Friday afternoon so they could start Monday. He said that would be great as they could remove the trans on Saturday. Saturday morning was better for me to drop off the truck so Sue and I took the truck to him Saturday morning. We paid half down with the balance to be paid upon pickup which was reasonable. Drove by there Sunday, truck had not moved from where I parked it even though I was told they would drop the trans the day before. So Wednesday rolls around. Need to plan to pick up Sue from work at lunch so she could take me to get the truck. Hadnt heard from them, expected truck was done. Called up there, truck not ready, will be Thursday afternoon. Thursday afternoon rolls around, have not heard from them, called them end of day, truck not done. Will be Friday. Friday I go up there at lunch, truck not done, they say be end of day. They want to make sure it got done Friday so they could hunt Saturday and not work. No call from them on Friday. Went there about 9:15 this morning, doors locked, truck outside on ramps. Trans is out. They removed the exhaust too which I thought was odd as a quick glance prior it didnt seem it would be in the way (I could be wrong though). Went to swap meet in Perry. On way back stopped by there again (about 1) no one was there again. Truck looked like it had not been touched. So here we are at day 8 on what I was told would be a 4 day job and the truck doesnt look even close to being done. Mind you truck is out in the parking lot, Passenger side is UNLOCKED I must add. Called cell phone and of course it went straight to voice mail. Left a message stating we need to get this resolved asap. I told Sue I wanted to borrow a truck, grab my trailer and just get the truck and reinstall the tranny myself.... of course she wouldnt let me... probably for the best. What else can I do here? I need my truck. Was supposed to haul some stuff for my dad this weekend, which obviously didnt happen. Im beyond pissed, not only that it has gone longer than expected but I had to call them for updates... they didnt even call me to say hey, there is going to be a delay. I was put off 4 times in a week and not one of those were where they called me.
