So what is a theory? As we have learned in the first 1-2 class about research, a "definition" on any "construct i.e. research" could result in many different ways to understand and to define a construct. However, definition is really important, because without "understanding the definition of a word" we could not use that "word" properly or further "apply that word" or a "series of ideas related to that word." Similarly, a theory needs to be "defined" as it provides common language and platform for all the researchers. So what is a theory? A theory could be a systematic way of organizing and explaining observations, that provides the framework for generating hypothesis: proposed cause-and-effect relationship between 2 or more variables. Variable - is a phenomenon that changes across circumstances or varies among individuals.
