So what should black workers do in the spirit of Labor Day and to address the sky high unemployment rate in our community that America created and maintains? Well interestingly enough, we have more proof that Dr King paid attention to the message coming from The Nation. A message that was articulated by Mr Garvey even before The Nation articulated it. A message so profound and racially threatening that the Feds went after Garvey and destroyed the movement. A message so profound that Obamas former law student Maggie Anderson, has re-visited and re-awaken the movement with her already classic book, Our Black Year. And what is the message? The message that America is sooo intellectually and racially afraid of? Well, the message is simple - black people - buy black and support black businesses. And heres the beauty of the message, when howls of Thats Racist! is hurl at you, just say, If Dr King is for it, how can it be racist?! Bam:)!!
