So what you are seeing is a series of farming improvements for healthy soil and better water retention as well as creating good multi- plant forage. We are slowly converting mono cropping alfalfa to sainfoin, four grass varieties, yarrow, some alfalfa, clover, triticale - its a long road. Lots of tractor time, lots of fiddled seeding, but conservation farming is like that not always a bottom line immediately. Springtooth to get rid of some of the dead matted grass, spread, gypsum, calcium w sulfur, and a full spectrum mineral base. Worm castings. Then drill with little tillage but the spring tooth and irrigate. It would be nice if we got a little rain but it is what it is- The last photo shows what the field looks like in the foreground- the background is a rehab.
