So, whats a good way to upload our writing, folks? Which would you prefer: a drop box spot, or a google doc spot? My latest idea is to let everyone put their writing there, for my eyes only. (Post here if you want reader feedback, or just want to share.) Once Im back home (in 9 months or so) I will edit the batch into a book, complete with cover and photographs, and post it for sale on Amazon. What do you think about this idea? Fabulous, right? Of course, not every piece will make the book, but if your piece(s) do, youll get a kick-back, AND be a published author. So, start writing, folks. Best stuff is not too long. (Say, under 2000 words.) Were going for shorts, and essays, and yes, send you photographs - the ones that tell a story; that define an element that is Senegal life, or your life in Senegal. And by the way, the first essay suggestion, Once Upon a Time in Senegal, was geared to remind you of a time, a place, a person, or a cultural observation. Your piece doesnt have to start out that way. But mine will. Once upon a time in Senegal there was a little boy whose eyes danced with joy and mischief. He was six years old, had a beautiful face, a huge smile with perfect teeth, and he was always laughing. But he could not talk. Because he could not hear. This is the story of how that changed one day, about a year after I came to live with him. Who will make us a cloud place to send our pieces? Let me know! Lets do this!!! -KC
