So when Grace came to us she had a rather dull coat, she wasnt in the best physical condition after just sitting in a small pen with several other equine for about a year, and the vet said she needed 50+lbs put on her. Weve fed her ample food to increase her weight, but instead she just maintained for awhile and then recently started to lose condition. We are relatively new to owning horses so I researched and scheduled her for the equine dentist to check her teeth, got her a high fat feed supplement, and went to our feed store for a recommended dewormer. 5 days now after the dewormer along with a week of psyllium to help facilitate the removal of any parasites she is already filling out and looking AMAZING! Im so happy! I cant believe the drastic change in her, she has filled out all over, her coat is soft and shiny, the little rain rot looking spots weve been battling on her ankles have disappeared and she just look happier. The equine dentist will of course still come look at her teeth as that could definitely be a contributing factor still, but Im feeling so relieved that 5 days after being dewormed she has drastically improved in her condition already!
