::::::: So when is the Night of Decree? ::::::::: —- Authentic Hadith say the 21st, and then the 23rd • Then another authentic hadith Ibn Omar (RA) said the Prophet (Sal Allah hu alayhi wassallum) that it was 24th of Ramadan—which some scholars took that the Rasool (Sal Allah hu alayhi wassallum) meant the starting of the 25th night. • Then the majority following opinion is that it is the 27th of Ramadan —- Because there are 30 words are in the Surah Al-Qadr, and 27th word of the Surah is “It is”. • Baytul-Izza (was revelated on the 24th) and then came to down to Dunya — the first time Gibreel (as) revealed the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allah hu alayhi wassallum) was on the 27th — However – the Majority say that Layltul Qadr changes every single year • “When entering the final ten days of Ramadan, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) would tighten his resolve, stay awake the whole night & wake up his family.” • Don’t single out the 27th, or the 24th or any specific night. All ten nights – the Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allah hu alayhi wassallum) used to do ibadah all 10 nights. • Hadith – Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allah hu alayhi wassallum) said “ Verily there is an hour of every single night, that no Servant catches from the Muslims asking Allah (subhana wa ta’la) for something, and Allah grants it” Gems taken from omar suleiman tafseer.
