So, whenever I fill out applications, Im always asked if Im Latino(a) or Hispanic, usually regarding my ethnicity and THEN it asks me about my race directly afterwards, and doesnt give me the aforementioned options. I understand that the former(ethnicity) refers to my cultural background, and the latter(race) refers to my physical appearance, but why isnt that offered under race as well? I mean, its only logical for a Hispanic to look like a Hispanic, therefore being ethnically Hispanic and racially Hispanic, so what gives? I did some research, and it turns out, race is a fictitious thing...so, if people asking me to fill out applications could stop inducing these minute existential crises, with these cloaked demeaning questions, that would be great. Thanks college, work. Im glad thats whats on your mind.
