So where to begin...the CanLake 50 proved to be not only a physical journey, but a spiritual, emotional and geographical journey as well! There were endless training miles most often completed before the sun even rose with my running partner and friend Shaun Martin and Lisa Baldo Josker. There was patience and support from my fabulous husband David Weiss and children. And well race day just blew me away. It was incredible start to finish. Thank you Shel B Small Anita Weissman Trisha Owens Bean Danielle Azzarelli Martin, Angela Caico, David and my beautiful daughter Hannah for being there on race day every step of the way! Seeing you on that course made this journey very special and easier! The words of encouragement, text messages and Facebook posts from family and friends that couldnt be there echoed through my head during the race! My lifelong friend Michelle Jarmuz-Volker was waiting at the finish line to share in the moment!!! The weather was perfect, the lake was beautiful, the hills were relentless and punishing. And finally, it was great to run that race with my friend Shaun. We did it as a team with the best handlers out on that course and made it!
