☆☆☆So who remembers the little starving pit bull that was rescued by our favorite Wilson County Deputy, Emy Bates? Someone had witnessed him being dumped by his POS owner and flagged her down. She immediately went to his aid and then called us once she had him secured in her patrol car. ☆☆☆ Sheriff went through his fair share of foster homes over the course of several months. He started off in KY for a few months. He was made home cooked meals daily and they did a great job beefing him back up. Once he gained weight and was strong enough to make appearances at our adoption events, we moved him to a local foster, Ms. Christin Bryant Webster. He met tons of people and made lots of friends while under her care but unfortunately had to find a new foster home due to unforeseen circumstances. The third foster home he was placed into was the home of Kathi and Brian Gilleland. Fortunately for sweet Sheriff, the third time was his charm. Shortly after they began fostering him they knew in their hearts that he was their missing link. Sheriff was adopted and has since became a permanent fixture in the Gilleland family. He was renamed Denver and wow did Denver ever hit the Jack pot! I am so freakin excited to share this HAPPY TAIL!! We recieved this update complete with pics today! Well, we failed miserably as foster parents but we rock as adoptive parents! Denver quickly captured our hearts. He is sweet and gentle with his 14 year old sister, although he is a rough and tumble boy normally. He is a cuddle bug and now a 50+ pound lap dog. He is smart, good natured and handsome. He still chases cats but only wants to lay his head on them we he corners one. Needless to say, they hate him and he has the scratches to prove it. Everywhere we go, people comment on his beauty and good behavior. He has learned to sit and most of the time, he walks well on a leash. He is very gentle when taking a treat and shows no aggression with food or with any animals. People are often shocked we adopted a pit, and quite frankly we are too. However, Denver is teaching us and everyone he encounters what a great breed they can be. Thanks for all you do to save homeless animals! Kathi & Brian We are absolutely ecstatic for Sheriff Denver!! My heart has been happy all day. Its the little things like this that make all of the stressful days worth every minute! ♡ Jill The first two pictures are of Sheriff shortly after we rescued him. The third is a picture of him at a Petsmart adoption event with his second foster mom, Christin Bryant Webster. The last three are just a tiny glimpse of the amazing life he is living now! His transformation is astounding. A HUGE thank you goes out to everyone who took part in helping Sheriff find his way to a new and beautiful life. Enjoy!
