So why doesnt the government declassify these foiled plots? Security? Well, the plots were foiled, right? The bad guys are caught, right? And those we didnt catch have probably figured out that the US government might be spying on their cell phones and email (any terrorist with half a brain obviously knew this before Snowden. Duh). So why not tell us how US surveillance is catching and stopping terrorists? Well, probably because its a lie. Well, maybe not a complete lie, but a serious bending of the truth. But if you bend the truth to the point of deception, we commonly call that a lie. The IRS does, at any rate. Im confident the information is not being declassified for the simple reason that it would reveal the opposite. . . that all this government surveillance is actually not accomplishing that much at all. So Republican Mike Rogers says This isnt a game. This is real. Yes. What is real is this: that the United States has created the most extensive mass surveillance system in the history of mankind, one that the East German Stasi could only have dreamed about. And what is real is the propaganda (read bullshit) coming out of Washington-- call it deformation of truth or simply lies, take your pick-- that is meant to frighten and intimidate the American public into accepting into our lives a cornerstone of a police state: the infrastructure for vast, total surveillance.
