So with gen 6 coming out with the whole Exp. Share and Super Training stuff, a lot of people are just now getting into competitive battling. Having only just gotten into competitive myself recently, I have a couple tips to get started. First of all, if you have a favorite Pokemon or two that you feel like you HAVE to use, look it up on smogon/ Smogon is a website with lots of great tips for anything related to competitive battling. You dont have to follow everything it says, but it has great guidelines. Second, go on pokemonshowdown there you can do whats called a random battle. Youll be faced off against a random person with 6 random but balanced Pokemon on your team. Its a great way to get used all sorts of Pokemon and figure out which ones you like. Honestly, with EV training being so much simpler now, thats really all youll need. I do recommend you have friend who also play competitively though, everythings more fun with friends.
