So yeah court ... The Santander 9 case is over, at least for me. With the Police pushing on Ms.Fortune (who previously had decided to be a witness) bank manager of Santander to stand witness and claim I had assaulted her upon entry (something which I deny, something which is true the police destroyed the CCTV evidence off) It has put the hibbies into a nervous legal aid and insurer who have removed cover, economically forcing myself (and presumably the others) to accept their hands down offer (settlement but only in regard to legal expenses) as I cannot afford to pursue the case. I wasnt aware Legal aid could be removed, I guess I thought it was Defacto. Questions about the destruction of the CCTV have not been answered by our council or the police. Dispite their case of intent to breach the peace based on an assault, no assault charges have been made against me. I went forward with the case because I think that however little, it matters that there is a peice of paper that says that this is not how police officers should behave, the more comments of that nature in some office do make a real change ( a rather slow ebb and flow but still) and instead we have simply given them a 20k legal bill and another citation of why they can continue to get away with this shit. Ah well .. life goes on.
