So yeah, guy walks into my betting office tonight pissed as a fart, tries to put a bet on and I turned him away as his bet looked like a 2yr old wrote it, basically I couldnt understand a word that was on it. So about 10mins later I go out to have a fag and this same guy decides he wants to pull a knife on me and actually try to stab me in the stomach. Luckily for me he was so drunk I could see his movements last year and quite frankly I broke his arm at the elbow, painful I know. So the police turn up (a little too late of course) and question me. I tell them exactly what happened and all they have to say to me is that Im lucky that the guy isnt here because Id be getting arrested too for using, how they put it excessive force. To which my reply was, so your telling me that me breaking his arm is using too much force, what if the guy had actually managed to stab me, Id say that a broken arm is far less forceful than being stabbed in the stomach, which to my knowledge is possibly one of the most painful places on your body to be stabbed. To which they reply, yeah but clearly you know how to defend yourself. Such is true yes, but the question really is how much force do you expect me to use? In my mind any knife attack is a life or death situation (to which they agreed) so why is it unreasonable to use that exact same amount of force to defend yourself with if the person attacking me is quite clearly intent on using that kind of force against me (aside from the fact that I wasnt using deadly force, I just broke his arm) To which they recited the same old shit of, but you know how to defend yourself. To which I replied, well clearly that guy knows how to attack people, does that not count for anything? They had no reply to that one...
