So yesterday Ceasar & I went on a 5 hour boat ride in the Golfo - TopicsExpress

So yesterday Ceasar & I went on a 5 hour boat ride in the Golfo Dulce which is in the OSA Peninsula, close to 3 hours south of us. It is one of only 3 tropical fjords in the world. We saw lots of dolphins, a couple of whales, brown Boobys (not boobys), anchored at a deserted beach for a swim, and plane boarded. Ceasar did the plane boarding, I took photos. Plane boarding is holding on to a wooden board with handles for both hands while the boat pulls you along. You wear goggles and can control the board to go under the water and come up again. You do this as dolphins swim alongside and under you. They actually turn themselves upside down while under you and look at you. Ceasar said he could also hear them sending out their sonar. Now you should know that Ceasar does not know how to swim. He can tread water a bit and float on his back....but is most comfortable in a pool, where he can stand up. After watching 2 people do it he was quick to say he wanted to do it. The crew, and I, offered him a life jacket, but he felt it would slow him down. Before I knew it he jumped into the water-the Golfo Dulce has some of the deepest water in the world, over 600 feet deep. He then grabbed onto the board and the boat began to pull him along. Each time he dove under the water my heart skipped a beat while wondering if he was still attached to the line. The crew was amazed that he was handling it so well. I think he is part dolphin! That was one day that I wont soon forget. Photos to follow.
