So yesterday I took my little old lady neighbor to the Dr and while I was their a man that didnt speak much English was having a hard time communicating with the front desk so I stepped in and helped to translate. Afterward, he said, Wow, you speak real good Spanish for a Gringa. So I asked him why do you assume Im not Hispanic and he said because my skin isnt dark enough and I have NO accent. I wasnt even sure if I should be offended or not. But it happens more often than not to me, so who else does this happen to and does it offend you?
