So yesterday I was out working in a field to remove a water meter. - TopicsExpress

So yesterday I was out working in a field to remove a water meter. It was very windy out there. My boss Bill DeVor was on the mini moving dirt from around the can the meter was in. He warned me to watch out for Rattlesnakes when we first got there so as he was digging I looked around on the ground just to make sure my six was clear. Little did I know that right next to the can was an old rabbit hole. I was about a foot and a half from the can when he scooped some dirt into the bucket. The wind stopped right at that moment and a heard a rattle right next to me. on the ground a foot and a half from me was a 4 to 5 foot long rattlesnake with 9 buttons on his tail. It took me less than two seconds to move the 15 feet and up onto the mini when I saw it. I am glad it did not bite me because I would not want to put the snake through that kind of painful death............LOL....P.S. No I did not have to change my drawers after but I sure could have used a blood pressure pill and an M-16 for security. the rest of the time we worked on that meter I was on full combat rubber necking security for snakes!
