So you might think this is a strange post to take a picture of a pear I ate in the morning. The only problem with this pear however, is that I ate it TWO days ago and it still looks freshly eaten. It made me think if microbes, bacteria and even flies in the kitchen aren’t touching this, perhaps we shouldn’t either? When I was a child I remember biting into a piece of fruit and feeling I needed to eat it quickly before it turned brown. Two days later and this pear doesn’t show any sign of browning. This is a non-organic pear, which is high on the #dirtydozen list of high #pesticide food. Even though it was washed thoroughly it doesn’t seem to make any difference. While I pretty much always eat organic this was a big reminder why its so important, especially for the younger members of the family.
