So youre bored? Ive seen this complaint time and again and it should be addressed. You know that you are mortal, correct? That your time on Earth is limited? That you are on borrowed time, yes? You are given one life with a finite amount of time that can be used for anything you want. Knowing that your time on Earth therefore precious, in that you may not have tomorrow, have you taken time to appreciate the gift that is your life? Or the wonders of the amazing world in which you live? Have the great artists of the past not captured your eye with their arts? Have your ears taken no joy from the master composers and their symphonies? Have the greatest philosophers of antiquity not challenged your mind with the concept of your own existence? Has no theologian caused you to explore your soul and the meaning of life? Have you never had curiosity about the worlds cultures, languages, sciences, geographies, arts, histories? Have you never challenged your own beliefs in order to be able to defend them? Do you even know what you believe? Have you ever given your time to others in need without expecting anything in return? Have you ever tried to learn a new skill? Ever took up a new hobby? Learn a new language? Well? If you are so bored those are things you could do... In the time it takes you to whine about being bored, you could have learned a phrase in 5 languages if you wanted to. This is an age where you literally have the worlds knowledge in your fingertips. No more wondering about something and having no resources, hoping to maybe find the answer to your question the next time you are at a library. Technology gives us zero excuse to be bored. Once on the internet, you can learn anything and everything at an instant! You could have this ability on your phone yet instead of learning you type, Im bored... and post. Have you no ambition? No curiosity? No self-motivation? No desire to better yourself mentally or physically? With what little time you have left on Earth you have no desire to indulge in the wondrous miracle that is life and the glorious creation that lies all around you? So, when you say, Im so bored, theres nothing to do... What others hear is, I do not appreciate my life, my soul, my existence, the people around me, the world that I live in, the arts, the sciences or technology. Also, Im too unmotivated to learn anything new. Too lazy to try anything new. Too dull to appreciate the arts. Too selfish to help people. I have no respect for my creator who gave me life to enjoy the creation that I live in. I have no purpose in life and zero passion. My existence is thereby mostly pointless. Someone please entertain me while I occupy space until I die... Im not trying to be unnecessarily condescending, but I want to issue a wake up call to anyone that is bored. Please forgive me, Ive never been bored and Im far too busy with all that this great world has to offer to be bored, so I cant possibly understand your plight. Oh what I could learn if only I had the time to be bored... If you have this free time on your hands to be bored, then please take this time to self-diagnose yourself. Find out who you are, what you love, where your passion is, what your talents are, how you can help others. YOU ARE UNIQUE!!! You have gifts and talents and a heart that only you have! Broaden your mind, discover who you are and find passion in the world that you live in. YOU determine your life and how you will spend what remains of it. The next time that you feel bored stop and allow yourself to be as curious as a child. Open your mind and let the world in. We only have a small amount of time here, please dont waste another minute of it.
