So youre waiting for your blessing huh? Man, we throw that word around so much, it has almost lost its potency. Do you really want to be blessed? The bible says: Matthew 5:3-11 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. (poor in spirit = spiritually poor and begging God for more of Him) Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (they that mourn = Mourn sin, or feeling a personal loss because of it...) Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (meek = humble, not weak) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. ( Hunger/thirst = appetite, or great desire for) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (the merciful = understanding they dont deserve anything good, but appreciate grace: getting what the dont deserve, and mercy: not getting what they do deserve... DEATH) Blessed are the pure of heart: for they shall see God. (Pure = without discordant qualities, their motives (not their actions) are without fault or malice) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Peace-makers one whos natural bent is to make peace not raise hell) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, FOR MY (Christ) SAKE. (Find a man that God used that did not endure persecution? When was the last time you took some heat for standing up for God?) In conclusion, please dont cheapen the term Blessing Yes, it may feel great to pay that bill, or to finally be in a relationship. It may even have seemed like that new house or new car was a blessing in the beginning. But just remember, a true blessing from God will not stray from Gods divine will, and in the end will make you a better saint with a virtue-filled peace. (without regret or anxiety) Im not saying that blessings dont sometimes come through struggles. The bible is clear that many do. But too many people stayed up all last night worried about how they were gonna keep their so called blessing for another month. Does that seem Godly to you? A blessing is an inner satisfaction and sufficiency, a peace, when my life is in line with Gods will at any given moment. If youve ever been there, youll know what I mean. Some of you are already blessed beyond measure and dont know it. So, sorry, but if you forward this message to 1 million people, GUESS WHAT, a surprise check in the mail to pay your car note still will not come. But if you begin practicing what the Lord says is behavior worthy of being blessed... Rest assured, He is not like man, He cannot lie, thats exactly what youll be... Blessed. Lord, Your will, Your way, nothing more, nothing less, in Jesus name... Amen!
