Social Media Specialist Internship: Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC), Joint National Steering Committee (JNSC) Duties: The intern will: Work closely with PARC’s Executive Committee, JNSC and Social Media Coordinator Manage regular content and postings on PARC’s Facebook Page and Twitter account Create content and assist in development of conservation messaging themes Research and recommend software or other applications for facilitating the management of multiple accounts, and content therein Recommend and apply relevant social media techniques, initiatives and tools to measure and improve overall engagement of PARC’s social media audiences Identify and recommend new social media tools, sites, and apps as part of the social media marketing mix Follow and monitor and post/respond to posts/comments Assist the planning committee for PARC’s 2015 Habitat in Focus Conservation Campaign, making sure that they are consist with and promote PARC’s mission Other duties as needed These duties should take approximately 8 hours per month. College Credit: We encourage students to speak with their professors about eligibility for credit for this internship; PARC will provide certification of hours worked or other required information for academic departments. **You do not need to be a student to apply.** Qualifications: Experience handling professional social media accounts (with development of social media marketing or outreach campaigns desired, but not required); media relations skills, advertising, building audience engagement, superb communication skills, and creativity are strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a basic understanding of amphibian and reptile species conservation concepts and a keen attention to detail. Excellent writing, organization, and time-management abilities are also imperative.
