Social media has one towering flaw. It is primarily a vehicle for people to express anger without compassion. It doesnt matter what. It doesnt matter who. It doesnt matter why. Their anger, their sense of being wronged, trumps all. Im tired of anger. Im weary of the endless whining. Im tired of political hacks whose only hope of five minutes of public attention is making somebody else angry. Anger has become the contagion we are all promoting. And it is poisonous to creativity, to compassion, to civility, and to common sense. I will tolerate pix of kittehs, hedgehogs, puppies, and people being silly. I will happily tolerate news of science and the arts, of places of wonder and whatever. Go light on the outrage. Go real light.
