Soil, just dirt? As we race toward development and sell out - TopicsExpress

Soil, just dirt? As we race toward development and sell out our natural resources (forests, mangroves, wetlands), heres a peak as to why this impacts us... From vast expanses of the North Americas prairies, today, just 3% remain, amounting to a loss of approximately 60% of their original carbon stock that, oxidized upon exposure, has become CO2 in the atmosphere. In addition, absent carbon and critical microbes, soil becomes mere dirt, a process of deterioration that’s been rampant around the globe. Regenerative practices can turn back the carbon clock, reducing atmospheric CO2 while also boosting soil productivity and increasing resilience to floods and drought.
