Solar energy could hold the key to solving Californias water - TopicsExpress

Solar energy could hold the key to solving Californias water shortage, say officials at WaterFX, maker of solar-powered desalination technologies. A pilot plant is already producing about 14,000 gallons a day, but a full-scale installation could produce 2 million gallons a day at about a quarter of the cost of conventionally desalinated water. California could wind up with so much water its able to export it instead of having to deal with shortages, says co-founder Aaron Mandell. sfgate/science/article/California-drought-Solar-desalination-plant-5326024.php
