Solar power usage to expand strongly in Abu - TopicsExpress

Solar power usage to expand strongly in Abu Dhabi . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Regulation and Supervision Bureau said on Monday that Abu Dhabi has granted a number of licenses to generate solar power at test sites across the emirate. According to the Bureau, the Abu Dhabi Judiciary and Al Ain Zoo are the first institutions that have been granted the license to begin generating electricity, around 28 licenses-mostly for schools are being processed. Private property owners will be granted licenses to generate their own electricity through solar power as soon as Abu Dhabi finishes the process of making wiring regulations. Together with our sector partners, we have been studying 11 sites around the city of Abu Dhabi with an installed capacity of over two mega watts (MW) which have been producing electricity for over a year, using several different panels,” said Nick Carter, director general of the Regulation and Supervision Bureau. This will allow Abu Dhabi to save energy and therefore save money for other projects, while using the country`s natural unvarying heat more proficiently and turn it to a commercial advantage. #egyptyard
