Soldiers Inc: The Yuri Granin Maneuver: Ever wish you could counter an incoming raid or occupation before the enemy has a chance to pull the offensive troops out? Now you can, with this 1 simple trick! The defender has the ability to counter-attack the incoming units as they arrive. There is a brief, but definite window of attack in play. Incoming attacks are shown as an icon on your bottom bar of your base. The timer shows exactly when the enemy will arrive. Unfortunately there is no way to tell what units are incoming, one thing that gives the attacker the advantage. It is the attackers responsibility to recon the defense to analyze and send an effective attack... however far too many commanders simply pile on the air or armor units and forget about the infantry. The defender has the ability to counter-attack the incoming units as they arrive. There is a brief, but definite window of attack in play. 1) Start by Bunkering your offensive troops (or all of them) 2) Wait for the incoming counter to reach between 7 and 12 seconds 3) Recall your offensive units you wish to attack within this window of attack. Remember: your OFFENSIVE units will effectively be ATTACKING the enemys OFFENSIVE troops, which will end up on the DEFENDING side of the fight. Since Offensive units have poor Defensive stats, your attack is nearly 10x more powerful than if you were attacking defenders. Remember to bunker your remaining offensive troops after the fight. Timing is paramont, recall too early and your O units can be decimated as defenders. Recall too late and they may miss the fight completely. While there technically is a 15 second window, your best odds are to cut this in half and round down. Even if the enemy commander is waiting on his garrison tab to recall the force, it takes time for the enemy units to reform and pull out, giving you ample time during an Occupation attempt. The auto-return mechanics of a Raid is a bit trickier to pull off, but definitely possible.
