Solitude Early in my Christian walk, I was always too busy to find the time to fit God into my daily schedule. There was always some pending issue with work, or family obligation, or an early morning round of golf. However, God found a way for me to make the time to fit Him into my schedule ... So I ask each of you. Do you want God to re-arrange your schedule? Or do you want to? Doing something for 30 days becomes a habit .. Trust me I know After leaving them, He went up on a mountainside to pray. (Mark 6:46) In the midst of feeding five thousand people and walking on water, Jesus sought intimacy with God. It was not during His morning prayer time. It was not at a time of extreme distress, as in Gethsemane. And He did not stop for just a minute, to breathe a quick one-sentence prayer. No, He went up on a mountainside to pray. He made a conscious decision to leave the scene, climb to a special place and connect with the Father. We need time alone to hear Gods voice. Seek His presence during the day. Sit quietly with the God who relentlessly pursues, loves and forgives you. Acknowledge worries, admit mistakes, ask for strength and remember the redemption Jesus secured on Calvary. Then go on with His peace in your soul. God-centered solitude will enrich your life. Thank You, Lord, for being so near; open my ears Your voice to hear. Amen.
