Solomon Dalung MAY GOD SAVE NIGERIA: I received with outrageous shock yet another news of bomb blast which rocked the busy Nyanya pack in Abuja yesterday morning. I grieved over this sad news of another national calamity where lives of innocent fellow Nigerians in search of livelihood were wasted by unprecedented form of violence. My heart bleeds as human carnage is graduating into asort of norm in our society. Quite painful also is the fact that insecurity blossomed unabated with government creating false hope of being on top of the situation. Ironically, we have been brainwashed with religious and ethnic sentiments while insurgency has converted us in casualties without borders. It is certain that nobody is safe anywhere in Nigeria, may be those privileged Nigerians taking refuge in fortified buildings either in government reserved areas or comfort zones in choice areas of urban centers. There is no doubt that the security challenge is either beyond the capacity of government or perhaps turned blind eyes to it because it has not affected its members personally. It might not be incompetency rather but complicity with the sole aim of harvesting political advantage. Either way you look at it is mind boggling. Unfortunately, the spokeperson of the ruling party compounded our suspicion by his unguided and reckless outburst of mud slinging against the opposition. Instead of sympathy, Olisah Metu exposed the complicity of his party with the blame game even before investigation could commenced. To me he knows more about the attack and proper investigation should commenced from his Wadata Plaza office. We must bend back slightly to understand whats happening. Former National Security Adviser, late General Azazi had leaned weight to this line of reasoning when he accused his party of responsible for insecurity. Although he paid dearly for touching the tigers tail. Although he is no more the truth he spoke stills hunt his party men from the grave. Another corroboration is the 18 page epistle according to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, where the former President accused President Jonathans government of recruitment and training of snipers ahead of the 2015 polls. Even though Mr President has denied the allegations he has not absolved his government from complicity as every trends points positively to the indictment. Obasanjo as former leader of his party cannot be said to undoing his party unknowingly, but might have been threatened by high level conspiracy to perpetuate violence as alternative ballot in 2015 in view of the dwindling image of Mr Presidents government. Either way the matter is considered, there is some evidential burden hanging on Mr President to discharge this weighty allegations beyond mere denials. Of course recently security developments across the North especially the damaging reports from serving soldiers at the war front around Sambisa forest in Maiduguri, the attacks on Giwa barracks coupled with the purported SSS attempted jail break, the Katsina, Zamfara, Southern Kaduna, Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau stats, etc and the so called Fulani herds men attacks indicated that the sniper training theory is likely. The role of the food and arms dropping helicopter to insurgents in Borno, Katsina and Benue is more confirming that the monkey resembles human being. Who owns the helicopter, Nigerian military or the insurgents? If its the insurgents, then why has our radar not picked its movement or is there collaboration between them? Since, its a light aircraft where does it refuels? To me, something incredible is fishy in the management of the security challenges. The whole scenario looks to artificial to comprehend rather to easy to believe that it might be an enterprise for political gains. The inhuman body language of the ruling party coupled with the viper venom outrages of Mr Presidents foot soldiers insults the cooperate psyche of Nigerians. We are drifting speedily to the abyss where chaos steers us in the face. Could it be the signs of fulfillment of American prophecy that Nigerian will not survive 2015 or that desperate seat tight political ebola fever has grieved the occupants of Aso Rock Villa, therefore the country is being used as sacrificial lamb? The senseless playing of politics with human lives is enough. This government should stop taking Nigerians for a cheap ride and sit up to the occasion. If it cannot protect Nigerians then it should honorably give way rather than playing the ostrich. We have sacrificed enough and will not overstretched this limit of reckless blood letting. I commiserate with families of the bomb blasts victims and sincerely share the pains of the moment of great trials. May God comfort each and every one of you as you bears the trauma of this unfortunate incidence. Finally,I urge all Nigerians to commit themselves in fervent fasting and prayers that God should intervened and unmasked evil people from amongst us. Amen.
