Some Post Match Thoughts by WillSpur Not in a look at me way, just as I know barely anyone got to see the game and I had a great view of everything in West Upper. Add your thoughts if you were there too. Agree? Disagree? •Rose at LW didnt really work. He did score but the game was crying out for a winger/chadli to come on. We were extremely right/townsend heavy (not that it wasnt working!) •The Kaboul situation: He was genuinely dreadful, falling out with a number of players across the game (Jan, Vorm and others). There was a moment in particular where him and Jan kicked off...the crowd (1882 primarily) responded by singing Super, Super Jan. It was clear who they were siding with and rightly so. His days certainly seem numbered. The crowd around me in West upper completely agreed with what the South stand did. •Soldado, feel so sorry for the guy. The miss was as bad as it sounds literally in front of a gaping net which just needed a tap in from I would say even less than 5 yards. Somehow it rocketed up off the cross bar. But regardless he didnt have a bad game the 2 assists were genuinely well worked. •Townsend had an incredible game and made some cracking crosses/passes (I know!), I think there was only 1 or 2 shots from him all game. I would go on to say it was the most un-selfish and best game I have seen from him in a long time. •Capoue bossed the DM spot nicely, was very solid and I personally feel like his passing range is criminally underrated. The guy can pick out a great ball. •Onomah (pretty sure I spelt that wrong) didnt really get to do much. Few touches and few decent passes but no where near enough time or involvement to judge. •Chadli looked excellent once he came on and was surprised he didnt bag a goal, his dribbling was on a whole nother level tonight. He wasnt just cutting in either and was regularly getting down the line into the box. Hopefully there are some highlights. •Where has this Paulinho been? (and dont say on the bench!). I lost count the amount of times he was so strong on the ball, shielding it and playing it out like weve seen Ade do when he was in form. Passing was great, his awareness and typical brazilian flare was very good to watch. Some lovely pirouettes and flicks past players. I was honestly expecting Charlie Adam to RKO him out of no where because that was the last time I have seen such a good performance from him. •Stambouli was nothing special but nothing bad. He played well but thats about all I can say. •My MotM: Would have to be a toss up between Paul and Townsend. Honourable mentions to Capoue and Chadli. •God bless the 1882, they were unreal today. Did not stop for the entire game and some of what they were chanting genuinely had me in stitches. They sang for Jan when Kaboul went at him. They picked on a burnley fan who seemed to look like Jesus and sang that he was a cunt...followed by the fan seeing the funny side and being told he was a yiddo. Top class lads.
