Some advice from an oldBodybuilder This past weekend at Masters Nationals was a lot of fun. These competitions bring about a lot of emotions. Excitement, happiness, anxiety and sometimes disappointment. Bodybuilding is a subjective endeavor and Its important to remember that. We dont always agree with how a panel of judges views the competition and keep in mind judges are human and make mistakes. Welcome to Bodybuilding! Like sport in general it is subjected to human error. I know many people disagreed with some of the placings- yours truly included in that group. However lets not forget. THIS IS ONLY BODYBUILDING! Not placing where you would have hoped or thought you should have is not the end of the world. People have REAL freakin problems folks. If you were even able to compete this weekend it means your are a very rare individual. One who has physical abilities far beyond the average person and more than most others who compete in similar events. Be thankful and humble. It can all disappear in an instant and I guarantee you it wont last forever. I believe in order to be a true champion you first have to act like one. Meaning leave the stage with the same demeanor regardless of your placing. If you are blessed enough to have a TEAM of people who support you and love you, enjoy the journey with them-they will last much longer than your bodybuilding career. Congratulations to all the EXCEPTIONAL people who competed! -Vic
