Some advice please. This mare is around 30 years old, boerperd x arab. Currently eating golden years with added pre and probiotics, molasses and good grazing all day. Does not like lucern, teff, oat hay, etc and ignores these in favor of grass. The problem is she scratches under branches and has worn her top tail and mane off. Has small sores on her coat and in her mane and tail. The color of her coat turned orange and fell out, leaving bald patches. Also, losing condition, but eats very well. She is not depressed, very spirited and loves the rest of the herd. How does she gain weight before winter.
