Some amazing new tellers at Jonesborough, Daniel Morden from Wales, who told old tinker tales from the Woods Romany family - got to get his book - Megan Wells, well-seasoned performer who told of the love affair between Aros and Psyche, whereby Psyche turned out to be the REAL man. The old pros: our beloved Tim Tingle who told of a flood and the spirit of his father, Kevin Kling who had his huge audience in stitches and, later in the ST Theatre, spoke very openly about his craft, and how to establish trust between the teller and the listener (thank you, Kevin!), and Tim Lowry, who delighted with a story of teaching Russian to elementary school kids and English to Russian emigrants, and gave a tour de force of 75 minutes with Charles Dickens Christmas Story. He learned the book off by heart!! And I got to tell of Cassidy and Bridgie and the gate in the marriage bed…. at the Swapping Place tent. What delight. More a delight was it to see and hear this ancient art so well told and so enjoyed by SO many.
