Some are taking the time today to regurgitate info from President Kennedys detractors. Starting in the 1980s, conservative revisionists, tabloid journalists and other producers of junk history started picking away at what they thought was an emotional myth of JFK, at odds with his reality. To many of these, JFK was no more than a lightweight philanderer--all style and no substance--whose only accomplishments were the Bay of Pigs and escalation of the Vietnam War. One good answer to these detractors involves taking a look at the rankings of presidents by historians and political scientists. At present, JFK has an aggregate rating among these scholars of 11 out of 44. Thats in the top third, in terms of greatness, among all U.S. presidents, even though JFK only served out 3 years of his first term.
