Some beautiful artworks by Japanese Calligrapher RIHAKU (Rie Inoue) that will soon be on display at Globus Washitsu. A nice video in action - vimeo/90838737 RIHAKU is a calligraphy artist and consultant of the Japanese Calligraphy Museum, and a calligraphy professor of the Japan Education Calligraphy Federation. She is also a member of the A.M.S.C (Art Maison Selecting Committee / Spain) and Paje de Los Suenos Foundation (Madrid, Spain). RIHAKUs work, while respecting the origins of Japanese calligraphy, aims towards a new style of art creation using materials other than those traditionally used in calligraphy, as a form of expressive art similar to - or even superior to - films and music. She sincerely hopes for this to be an emotionally resonant new Japanese art, with the power to stimulate the senses of people around the world, even when viewed by those with no knowledge of Japanese Kanji and Hiragana writing. At Globus Washitsu! May 22 (Thu) - May 25 (Sun) 1 PM - 6 PM Opening Reception : May 23 (Fri), 6 PM- 8 PM
