Some churches waste members time and resources so much on things immaterial to the Gospel that they dont have time to be Christians. People are so burned out from events, fundraisers, etc that they have no energy or desire for the display of the glory of God outside of church. They are told that their service to God is in their voluntary service to church, and that their faith is exercised in their petitions to God. As a result, mainstream Christianity becomes an opportunity to fulfill selfish ambition. People strive for positions and awards within their local churches, instead of adapting a servants heart and receiving a bigger honour on the other side. People become selfish with the Gospel that they dont even use it themselves, comfortable with the gratification that comes from mainstream Christianity, and not at all willing to take up the Great Commission and preach the Gospel to the streets, or to their workplaces, or to their friends, or even to their families (because that is the purpose of Sunday School). Jesus said, Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, baptising them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (same Name), and teaching them all that I have taught you. For some that might mean, Come, let us make for ourselves a vacuum of a social club based on our morals and values, that makes us happy and judges everyone else who doesnt want to come here, but I believe that the Bible is true and needs no other interpretation. I believe that Jesus said what He meant, and meant what He said. I believe that, if we are to be the Church, we have to be not of, of course, but in the world. I believe that if one is to start or lead a church, he should read the blueprint and build from there, instead of other influencing models. The Church is the Last Missionary, and its focus should be external. #PraiseJesus
