Some day I will need to make a video of the twice daily procession we have here, when I walk the dogs around the property. First are the two dogs running ahead, sniffing, rolling and eating stuff they are not supposed to. Next is me, with Simon the cat, who has adopted me as his person. Straggling along behind and lurking in various patches of tall grass, are Freddy the Fraidy Cat, Trouble, Half Pint, Little Bit and Shadow. These five cats love to leap out from their hiding spots and scare the crap out of the dogs. Simon spends his time winding around my feet as I walk, to maximize the chances of me either stepping on him or falling and breaking a hip. We work our way around the farm, ending up back at the house, I open the back door, and all animals file back inside, flopping down on the cool tile floors to rest. Except for Simon, who resumes his spot on the front porch, waiting for me to come back out and go to the barn, so he can resume his efforts to trip me.
