Some days I hate being a good person and a responsible business owner... Grrrr... Phone Rings, Me: Hello? Caller: Hi, I have been following your progress on the Jeff Machs Giant Robot, That thing is amazing! Me: Thank you. Caller: My kids love it too. Im down here in N.C. and I was wondering how much it would cost to ship it here? Me: Um, I dont know, but this is a commission piece so its not for sale. Caller: (pause).... how much did they pay you for it? Me: Im afraid I can not tell you, its part of the deal, non-disclosure and all that, you understand.. Caller: Yeah, so, what if I offered you $(insert jaw dropping number here.)? Me: (long pause...) Um, Im sorry, I cant sell this one to you. I,I,.. um yeah, I cant. but I could make you another one if you like? Caller: Ok, but I need it by May 30th, can you do that? Me: (really long pause as I think of what I could do with a jaw dropping amount of cash about now, and then realize I would have only a week and a half to build it.) Um, Sadly, It can not be done. I need at least 2 months to build one even if I do nothing else. Caller: Damn, well Ill call you back and you let me know if you change you mind. Im going to get back to work now and I will try and not scratch my head... with the nail gun.
