Some fifty-eight (58) years ago, in Goaso Mempeasem, a bouncing baby boy was born to Opanyin Baffoe-Bonnie from Sewua in the Bosomtwe district and Madam Ama Kyerewaa from Breman in Kumasi. He was baptised Paul Kwadwo Baffoe-Bonnie and attended Goaso L/A and M/A schools. He passed his Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) in the late 1960s. He was admitted into Konongo Odumase Secondary School (KOSS) where he spent 7 years for his Ordinary and Advance GCE. He proceeded to University of Ghana and thence to Ghanas prestigeous Law School, where he was called to the Bar in 1981 alongside Papa Owusu-Ankomah, MP Sekondi, Joseph Ayikoi-Otto (both former Attorney-Generals under NPP), Kwadwo Owusu- Afriyie aka Sir John, the current NPP General Secretary and Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, currently a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. As a Circuit Court Judge in Kumasi, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie JSC was synonymous with bribery and corruption. He will ask his clerk whether the parties in a pending case had seen them or they had not seen him. In a particular, I was lost for words when Paul Baffoe-Bonnie accepted a 20-kilo bag of rice and 10-litre cooking oil to settle a matter for the defendant. When the NPP promoted him to the Supreme Court, all the lawyers who knew him including his classmates were spellbound. When he was promoted to the High Court and transferred to Duayaw Nkwanta, his corrupt ways of settling cases before him caught the attention of the late Chief Justice Paul Acquah, that he disagreed with Baffoe- Bonnies promotion and subsequent transfer to Accra. How right was Chief Justice Acquah, who will be turning in his grave on the 29th August, 2013. Paul Baffoe-Bonnie JSC had come full-circle by openly demonstrating his treacherous and corrupt disposition, when the very political party that put him on the Supreme Court benches defied the seminal Paul Acquahs counsel. Paul Baffoe- Bonnie JSC is going round boasting that, he is on the bench by merit and was using his conscience to settle a political case like the landmark presidential petition. What is more risible, is that, a 51-year-old Appeal Court Judge who barely wrote a judgement at the Appeal Court is boasting that he got to the apex Court on merit. A absolute betrayal of the political party that put him there. Let it be told to Paul Baffoe-Bonnie that, he was put into the Supreme Court by the NPP administration and that all such appointments to the Supreme Court are highly political. If in doubt, he should consult Justices Atuguba, Gbadegbe and Akoto-Bamfo. They will teach him a few lessons in unbridled loyalty and commitment to a political cause. All the NDC appointed Justices William Atuguba, Sulley Gbagdegbe and Vida Akoto- Bamfo stayed true and nailed their political colours to the NDC and unanimously dismissed all the nine infractions with another traitor Justice (Mrs) Sophia Adinyera. Mrs Adinyera was promised two Municipal Chief Executive positions in the Volta Region plus a reported sum of $2,500,000. Not bad for an 8- month job, is it? Her comeuppance is nigh. Paul and his wife Naana Baffoe- Bonnie together with Seinti Baffoe-Bonnie, a friend of John Mahama made sure Paul ruled in favour of the respondents by firstly given a $500,000 bribe to Naana Baffoe-Bonnie, who went to China to import three 40- footer container load of plumbing materials, waiting to be cleared at the Tema port. Seinti Baffoe- Bonnie, a taxi driver in Dallas in the 1980s has now achieved his aim of facilitating John Mahamas bribery efforts to sway a landmark case in his friends favour. The Almighty Lord is watching !!! As for Naana Baffoe-Bonnie, an Akyem woman from Buhyia near Akwatia, who attends church with John Mahama and facilitated the bribe to her husband. Okyenman wishes you and you family well in all your endeavours. We know that your philandering husband has lost control of his home as you are the woman taking care of all his illegitimate children and irresponsible life such as his inability to his childrens school fees and maintenance costs. Your insults against the NPP, after taking you and struggling, corrupt husband Judge of yours to Accra and promoted to the Supreme Court are well-noted. The most painful one amongst the lot is, as for you NPP, you do not take care of your own. The NDC has taken very good care of you and your children, May good protect your booty. Paul Baffoe JSC was given a hefty $2,000,000, it is pathetic for a middling Justice of the Supreme Court to think he was going to get away with it. The tricks he played on everybody is playing out now. My source confirms that, Paul Baffoe- Bonnie took the bribe in May 2013 and thereafter decided to play games with every NPP friend that he had, who went out defending his name against the bribery allegation. As the saying goes, there is no smoke with fire !!! Now I hear Paul Baffoe-Bonnie resides at the Golden Tulip with National Security protection, anytime he is in Kumasi with his newfound cousin Seinti Baffoe- Bonnie, abandoning his favourite Georgia Hotel. Money Swine, as they say. What irks me is that, innocent respected citizens like former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II are being drawn in the fray, due to Pauls betrayal of the NPP who made him what he is today. His betrayal is unmatched in the history of Ghana and in the same league as Kwame Tuas, who betrayed the Ashanti Kingdom when the British were looking for the hidden Golden Stool. What goes up will surely come down, Paul Kwadwo Baffoe- Bonnie JSC.
