Some food for thought about the NFL: Have you ever come home from a particularly bad day at work or school and was unable to compartmentalize your emotions. Did the people you love bear the brunt of your aggravation by simply being there. When that happens we generally treat our most loved ones in a way we later regret. we may be quick to anger or have no interest in listening to them about their day, making them feel bad about themselves. It is not easy to just make compartments of emotions with no spillover. Now imagine that your entire job was to be as physical and violent as possible. Either by roughly tackling someone, chop blocking a rusher, or bowling over a defender on the way to the end zone. Ever noticed that after a particularly brutal hit on the field, players celebrate as long as the other player isnt injured. if a persons life and career. Watch the following highlight to see what I mean. youtube/watch?v=nipUMmd4Pk0 Why should it shock us that an NFL player would loose his cool and hit someone, even a woman. When a person yells at their children after a bad day at work, that individual is essentially guilty of the same problem, not being able to compartmentalize. Granted that what Ray Rice did was far more egregious and completely unacceptable, but isnt it a possibility that playing such a violent sport lends itself to people committing acts of violence? These thoughts by no means present an answer to the problem. I think they just further complicate the issue. Just a thought. (BTW- I happen to be a huge 49ers fan)
