Some great news on dad -- The tests have been completed and interpreted on whether injecting chemo through a port into dads brain would be an effective treatment or not: The tests displayed no blockages on his spine and his spinal fluid density is normal, which means putting the chemo directly onto his brain, then having the treatment travel down his spine to his central nervous system, is the course of treatment the doctors will now follow. The hope is this course of action will make him strong enough to withstand radiation treatment. Another bit of good news -- The chemo dad has been receiving via his feeding tube since Monday has yet to create any of the horrible side-affects that many times accompany this type of treatment. Also, the slight urinary tract infection he contracted seems to be waning and the collection of gunk in his lungs is breaking up. This is the first good news weve had in quite some time concerning dads condition. Hopefully, with him finally receiving treatment he will begin to show signs of improvement replacing the steady downhill slide weve witnessed over the last few weeks. On a personal note -- In addition to the Prayers for Coleman updates, Ive received too-numerous-to-count requests for updates on dads condition, and we as a family want to thank everyone for your concern, love, prayers and support. It speaks not only to dads impact on everyones life, but also to the type of people each and every one of you are. For so many years, he has been the one offering comfort and support in time of need, and now its his turn, and you have not let him down. Thank you so much!!
