Some have asked about schools not scheduled for renovations in the upcoming bond referendum. Here is the response from Assistant Superintendent Bill Hance: Mary C. Williams Elementary was one of four elementary schools identified in the 2010-2011 Facility Needs Assessment for replacement. The four schools are: College Park, Blair, Pine Valley and Mary C. Williams. All four schools identified for replacement are within the top 25 projects prioritized by the Board of Education which make up the approximately $284 million request submitted to the County. However, only two of the four schools identified for replacement fall within the $160 million bond request that will be on the ballot in November 2014. The two schools within the $160 million bond are College Park and Blair. The two remaining schools, Pine Valley and Mary C. Williams, would be prioritized in a potential follow-up bond comprising the remaining $124 million request.
