Some have asked so here is my grandmothers obituary. (Parrish Funeral Home) Smithfield – Cornelia Elizabeth Moore Gerrell Johnson, age 100, passed on Sunday, October 6, 2013. After a very full life, Cornelia Johnson, surrounded by many members of her family in heart and spirit, passed peacefully. Born September 11, 1913 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Adams Moore. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Bait Gerrell, and her second husband, Vernon Johnson; two children, Malon Bait Gerrell, and Virginia Frances Davis; and many brothers and sisters. She was a member of Smithfield Church of God. Cornelia had a love of the Lord, of life, and of her family and extended family that showed in all her days on this earth. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Surviving are her daughters, Ann Williams and husband Bobby of Princeton, and Audrey Hall and husband Billy of Wilson’s Mills; sons, Tommy Gerrell and wife Mary Rose of Wallace, Joe Gerrell and wife Loretta of Angier, Woody Gerrell and wife Barbara of Selma, Aaron Gerrell of Smithfield, Sonny Gerrell and wife Donna of Kenly, and Jimmy Gerrell and Brenda Thorton of Garner; twenty three grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
