Some highlights from the 2013 Spain/Oktoberfest trip... MADRID: The Otoño cocktail and re-tasting bottles of pre-release Bittermens from 2009 at Del Diego. Five bottles of sherry at La Venencia. Our first Gin and Tonics at Gin Club. Cuban Dancing at La Negra Tomasa, caribinero prawns at Norte y Sur. Rum all night at my favorite rum bar of all time Ambigu 16 and cocktails until dawn with the team at Le Cabrera. SAN SEBASTIAN: Scrambled eggs with mushrooms at Ganbara. Cider from the barrel and a traditional lunch at Sarasola. Oh, and Etxebarri - words just cannot describe it. BARCELONA: Masterclass at XIX Bar followed by an amazing Gin and Tonic. Revisiting old favorites at Bar Pinotxo, Boadas and Dry Martini Bar. Meeting Joao - which led to paella on the side of a mountain at Martinez, late night drinks at 41 Degrees (where our Bittermens Tiki Bitters are on the menu) and tasting amazing infusions at Le Noire. MUNICH: Celebrating my 40th where I celebrated most of my birthdays for the past ten years - Löwenbräu Zelt. Dinner at Shiva, our old neighborhood Indian restaurant which seems to just be getting better over the past decade. Having festbier from all six of the Munich breweries. Amazing döner at Ali Baba.
