Some humour is timeless....people would have been laughing at other people falling over as soon as we developed the neccessary consciousness to appreciate the expected vs the unexpected ....Arthur Koestler thought that the process of humour is very similar to art creation/appreciation, or philopshical/intellectual insight....all three work by suddenly seeing the same info in a new light...changing expected outcomes...he says that we even use similar vocal expressions when it happens..ha ha!....aaah!....aha!
