Some imbeciles broadcasted this meme. This was my response: Detroit would use the money to line the pockets of the likes of Kwame Kilpatrick and company. Seriously, this is a non-sequitur meme. Detroit was a once affluent and influential city that boasted an economy that was the envy of other cities in the United States that didnt need a handout as you fools suggest. That city alone made Michigan one of the most respected and powerful states until its gradual decline starting in the 1960s. In contrast, Israel was an arid wasteland. While Detroit was switching hands to incompetent bureaucrats who drove that city into bankruptcy, the Israelis built their country up from a smattering of disparate villages and kibbutzes and a rag tag militia force known as the Haganah into an economic powerhouse and formidable military force feared throughout the region, culminating in the defeat of the combined armies of four Arab nations and the securing of the West Bank and the Golan Heights. Seriously, you folks need to review history. At least we have a friend in the Middle East willing to back us up where everyone else seems to be hell bent on waging a jihad against us.
