Some ingredients just dont smell good. However, their effectiveness far outweighs their stink factor. Neem Oil and Tamanu Oil are probably the worst smelling to my nose, and together they create a bitter, woodsy scent that isnt wonderful. But their ability to repair and heal is amazing. Neem oil is widely known to soothe itchy, irritated skin and heal Psoriasis and Rosacea and can be of great benefit for acne. It is antibacterial and antifungal and also acts as a bug repellant. Tamanu oil is a wonderful skin treatment for scars, burns, fungal infections and acne, mostly due to its high fatty acid content and stellar antibacterial properties, and is often used in preparations for dry skin, Eczema and Psoriasis. There are many Essential Oils that can be included in a healing body product that will add extra antibacterial, soothing and healing. For this Tamanu and Neem Oil Skin Repair Salve, Ive used Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemongrass and Patchouli. Coconut Oil and Olive Oil bring their own skin loving and healing benefits, and Ive included them both to provide that little extra boost to nourish dry, irritated skin. Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter provide emolliency, skin occlusion and protection and contribute to the nice feel when smoothing on your body. The Beeswax helps hold it all together and also provides occlusion and protection. Vitamin E Oil and Rosemary Oil Antioxidant round out the ingredients that make this a wonderful, but not beautifully scented, salve to target those skin conditions that can make our lives miserable. I have some on my arms now, and after 15 minutes, they smell faintly of Patchouli :-) Thank goodness LOL
