Some know my love for this album and also underground hip hop and others do not. The story is that I was on a boating trip in NYC harbor during August of 2001 and I copped this album while I was there in the city. We ended up being there close to 2 weeks because one of our travel mates had a damaged prop on their boat when we originally sailed in and we had to wait for a diver to repair it before we came home. Little did I know that would be one of the best days of my life while also being one of the worst times for other people. I spent my morning of August 11th, 2001 taking a tour of the world trade center with my family and group we were traveling with. We had our pictures taken there and everything. I have told George before that this album changed my life and I would like to think that it had nothing to do with me being in NYC so close to one of the biggest disasters I have ever seen to hit our soil in my life time. In a way this album helped me to make sense of everything. It somehow still does to this day. George was always my barometer for underground music aside from my NYC trip, and I probably havent ever explained to him how much he has helped me along the way in the hip hop world, but without him I wouldnt be here either.
