Some lessons learned from the weekend... Get a great, long playlist or consider running without music Have plenty of food variety and things to look forward to eating Bring more warm clothes than you think you need and put warm clothes on before you get cold Walk out the bad times – enlist a friend to do this with you – see if you can get some enthusiasm back Get people on shifts or link in with a group of other runners and supporters Take a back up phone charger Try electrolyte tablets so you don’t have to drink disgusting drinks all day Pin number onto bottom half so you don’t need to re-pin it when layering up top Scrap the headlamp and visor – made my head hurt after 12h and it was light enough Train towards the run rather than signing up on a whim! Eat and fast walk Support a charity for some extra motivation Cut toe nails!
