Some lovely friends of mine ( Hal Scardino and Itab Azzam see below) are taking toys to the Syrian children in Jordan coz they are pretty bored and lacking in fun. If you have any baby bits, clothes or toys that are taking up space in your flat but you are not using then pls let them take it to these kids.... Pick up from mine in West London tomorrow afternoon x x x Dear friends, As a side venture to our syriatrojanwomen.org project, we are collecting toys and art supplies for the bored-out-of-their-minds Syrian children in Jordan. Most people left their homes with just the clothes on their back so pastimes are scarce to say the least. We plan to take the majority of the toys we collect to the different refugee camps around northern Jordan, the largest of which is Zaatari: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaatari_refugee_camp. The art supplies and the rest of the toys will come with us to the centre where we will be conducting rehearsals. At the centre well be providing daycare to the kids that will be accompanying their mothers. I write to ask if you have any old toys and supplies that you wish to contribute to the cause? Ill be driving around with my friend Itab to make collections before we head back to Jordan Oct 25. The first day of collection will be Oct 16. If this day doesnt work for you then let me know and well make a separate arrangement.
