Some might be surprised Im sharing this because it seems well, so Democrat. Truth is nowadays, neither party sticks up for the poor. The poor are not a big priority even with Democrats, not for a long time. As to Republicans, they never were known to defend poor people. Poor people always get sold out when the two parties horse trade on the House or Senate floor. The poor really dont have a party to vote for. Just in case you thought the Democrats were defending the poor, Obama in particular, by letting in all these illegals by the thousands, it is draining the limited resources for poor Americans. For example, they will have to spread the food stamps to an even greater number which risks spreading it way too thin. So, if you think about it, when Rick Perry or the militias prevent border crossers, they are protecting the programs for needy Americans. A guard-the-borders-America-first policy is better for the American poor. A porous-border-favor-other-countries-over-America policy hurts the American poor. The voter is in a much more complex situation and must look very carefully at very specific candidate positions and consider all causes and effects.
